About:
Almog Baram is a Ph.D. student in the Geology and Environmental Department at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) in Israel. After earning a bachelor’s degree in 2015 from BGU, where he specialized in engineering geology, he continued to his graduate studies. His master's degree, as well as the first part of his Ph.D., dealt with Israel building standards for earthquake resistance and the evaluation of local site effects. Baram deal with Israel reference condition definition and the evaluation of site amplification factors based on an integration of VS30 and other frequency based proxies. Additionally, Baram is working on the definition of non-linear effects that are caused by the vertical propagation of P waves by using empirical and experimental methods.
